The above pictures show several shops that teach wood working. These shops all have good points in them. These are somewhat like we envision our new building to look like but with more comfortable stools. We have made an opening date for the Club as April 30 2008. Our members will be allowed to use the machines and tools available to make projects in our building. Some of our members will be highly skilled in many facets of wood working and will be friendly enough to help out beginning wood workers. We plan on inviting some well known guest wood workers to our shop to provide helpful workshops that will guide our members and create a learning experience. The Club has 2 local wood working associations already scheduled to hold their meetings on Saturday mornings at the Club. We want to teach woodworking to anyone interested in learning. We will be offering classes in such areas as shaker box making, bowl turing, hollow vessel turning, veneer work, furniture making, and many others. We plan on allowing the public to come in and use the center using a guest pass for a day and allow members to come anyday the Club is open for a fee of $100 a month.

The women left are very happy with the projects they have just completed and they should be. Woodworking is a very satisfying pursuit. Women make up a significant number of the wood workers in the United States. |
